Indiana sanatorium fires 8 workers who refused influenza shot

GOSHEN, Ind. –  A northern Indiana sanatorium has dismissed 8 employees who refused to get influenza shots a sanatorium says are indispensable to strengthen patients from a potentially lethal illness.

IU Health Goshen Hospital officials told a staff in Sep that influenza shots would no longer be discretionary for staff, dependent physicians, volunteers and vendors.

Hospital mouthpiece Melanie McDonald tells The Elkhart Truth a new mandate came as a recommendation from a U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, a American Medical Association and other vital health agencies.

McDonald says a influenza has a top genocide rate of any vaccine-preventable disease. She says a sanatorium would be insane to omit a fact that patients with compromised defence systems are during a larger risk for illness and genocide from a flu.
