A survey by the Royal College of Nurses has found that more than half of nurses have cared for transgender patients, but only 13% of them felt prepared to do so.
Kirsty Cass is a nurse at a private hospital in Sussex, but in 2012 she was an NHS patient having gender reassignment surgery.
She says the health system is failing transgender patients.
