‘It made me feel so unattractive’: Man finally finds the confidence to leave his house after having ugly lumps the size of GOLF BALLS surgically removed from each of his ears

A man who had a massive overgrowth of scar tissue hanging from both of his ears has finally regained his confidence after having the unsightly keloids surgically removed.

On Tuesday night’s episode of the E! reality series Botched, Los Angeles-based surgeons Dr. Terry Dubrow and Dr. Paul Nassif met with Trevor, who revealed the large, round keloids started to develop after he got his ear pierced in middle school.

‘Before my surgery I had these giant golf ball size keloids attached to the sides of my face; it made me feel so unattractive and so depressed,’ Trevor said. ‘Since my surgery I feel so much more attractive, so much more driven, ambitious, I’m finally flourishing. I just feel great.’

Needing help: Trevor asked Los Angeles-based surgeons Dr. Terry Dubrow and Dr. Paul Nassif to remove the overgrowth of scar tissue on his ears on Tuesday night’s episode of the E! reality series Botched

What a difference! Trevor was plagued by keloids, an overgrowth of scar tissue, on both of his ears. He is pictured before and after his surgery

Pleased: Trevor, who admitted the keloids made him feel self-conscience, said his new earlobes ‘look great’

At the start of the episode, Trevor explained that when he was in middle school, he begged his mother to let him get his ear pierced.

‘My mom was actually the one who took me to do it. I loved my piercing,’ he recalled. ‘A few months into having my piercing, I started to notice and feel this small bump forming on the back of my ear where the piercing was.’

Trevor admitted that he really didn’t pay much attention to it until it got so large that he could no longer ignore it.

‘My earrings wouldn’t fit in my ear anymore because it was the size of a pencil eraser, I couldn’t get the needle in,’ he said.

Star of it all: Trevor explained that he begged his mother to get his ear pierced when he was in middle school (left and right) and she finally relented (right)

Bad decision: After his first piercing, Trevor had to have a keloid removed from his ear twice. However, he eventually decided to get his other ear pierced despite his past complications

Complications: Two keloids started to grow on both of his ears after he got his second ear pierced

Trevor had the keloid surgically removed, but a year later he noticed it was coming back, and before he knew it, the scar tissue was the size of his thumb.

‘The second time I got my keloid removed, it was at an oral surgeon’s office. The reason why we did is because my mom knew the guy and he promised her a discount,’ he explained.

Trevor went on to say that after he had the keloid removed for the second time, ‘everything was great’.

‘There was no signs of it coming back,’ he added. ‘That’s when my killer decision making skills kicked in and I said, “Oh, I am going to pierce my right ear now”.

Consultation: Dr. Nassif (left) and Dr. Dubrow (right) can be seen inspecting the golf ball size masses on Trevor’s ears

Getting ready: Dr. Nassif was determined to help Trevor, and he is pictured prepping him for surgery

‘That’s when I realized the keloids were coming back — except this time substantially larger.’

During his consultation, Trevor explained how his piercings led to the growth of his massive keloids, and the doctors were concerned with how the overgrowth of scar tissue was affecting his life.

Trevor admitted that he no longer tries to meet women, and he tends to stay home when he can.

‘That confidence is just gone,’ he said.

Trevor didn’t even care if the doctors couldn’t remove them completely, he just wanted them to be smaller, so he could move on with his life.

Going for it: During surgery, Dr. Nassif sliced into each keloid and removed the masses before using the remaining skin to reconstruct his earlobes

Moment of truth: Dr. Nassif explained that he did the best he could, although he admitted that he wished there was a way he could do more

All smiles: Trevor can be seen looking at his new earlobes for the first time, and he was extremely happy with the final results

Dr. Nassif was determined to help Trevor, and during surgery, he sliced into each keloid and removed the masses before using the remaining skin to reconstruct his earlobes.

However, Trevor didn’t have enough skin leftover in the one ear because the keloid had eaten most of it away. Using skin from the keloid, Dr. Nassif did the best he could.

And while Dr. Nassif was a bit hard on himself during Trevor’s follow-up appointment, the patient couldn’t be happier.

‘As I look at Trevor’s ears, they look fine,’ Dr. Nassif said. ‘However I really wanted to get those ears as symmetric as possible and they’re close but they’re still not perfect.

New man: Dr. Nassif was able to successfully remove the keloids and reconstruct Trevor’s earlobes

Thrilled: ‘I feel like I owe this new life to Dr. Nassif; he’s given me this new chance,’ Trevor said

Cheers! Trevor, who used to avoid leaving his home, can be seen enjoying a drink with friends

‘And even though I knew in advance they wouldn’t be perfect, just staring at it I just say, “God I just wish I could do better.” But I know I can’t.’

Despite Dr. Nassif’s professional opinion, Trevor saw his new earlobes for the first time and thought that ‘they look great’.

Less than two months after his surgery, Trevor’s life has already changed for the better. Not only did he say he was feeling ‘confident’ and ‘happy’, he had already lined up a job interview.

‘I feel like I owe this new life to Dr. Nassif; he’s given me this new chance,’ he told the cameras.
