Meet Women’s Health‘s 61 Amazing Action Heroes of 2016

What she does: Fitness Professional. I teach indoor cycling, rowing and high-intensity interval based classes in New York City (some of which include TRX, kettlebells strength + functional training). I am a coach, personal trainer and athlete.
What she wants you to know: My passion for teaching others is unparamounted and I thrive coaching them to be the best versions of themselves. For me, the most powerful thing is having the ability to lead a workout, that allows others to mentally, energetically and physically reach new heights, accomplish something they didn’t think they were able to and let it transcend to a more confident, successful and accomplished version of themselves.

To backtrack, I grew up training to play a very high level of competitive tennis until I was 18 years old. The dedication, discipline, drive and desire instilled in me through my training, has fueled the passion and intensity that I bring to every group fitness class I teach, training session I coach and interaction with my clients both in NYC and around the world.

My passion to structure and sequence the absolute perfect workout for every person in the room and those that may be participating in the workout live or on-demand from another location is unparalleled. I am relentless in my efforts to go above and beyond to cater to the needs of everyone.

However, I didn’t just fall into coaching others despite teaching tennis my entire life. When I suffered from a knee injury that ended any hopes of advancing a tennis career, I was absolutely crushed. I remembered the feeling of getting on the court or stepping in the weight room to train and coach others and nothing came close to trumping that feeling for me; the feeling of walking into a workout or a match and being able to rise above any challenge and do something you didn’t think you could do made me feel alive in a way nothing else does.

Instead, I went to college and got a job in corporate life working as a consultant advising on big MA transactions. All the while, I knew i had a bigger purpose, I wanted to inspire others to find success and connect through fitness. With my passion for fitness, a thirst and knowledge for business ventures and a keen entrepreneurial spirit, it became clear I needed to change paths to satisfy my purpose and desire. I began working with companies like Flywheel, Peloton Cycle, CycleBar, CityRow and being one of the founding members of Forte to continue to grow my career, satisfy my desire to be involved in building a start-up company and develop my brand on a global scale.
The dish she can whip-up with chef-level skills: Quinoa pasta with homemade basil pesto + clams
Her favorite food to indulge in: All shellfish – oysters, stone crabs, lobster.
Her mantra: I see every workout as an opportunity to rise above any obstacle and I believe that going beyond the limits in group fitness allows you to go beyond the limits in everyday life. My mantra is to help you find your edge and push beyond. My class are a high energy, calorie burning experience that challenge my students physically and inspires them mentally and emotionally.
Best work or workout advice received: My Dad always told me to choose a job you love and you will never have to work a day in your life. That’s the mantra by which I live my life daily. My love for what I do the passion I have for my job bursts out of me every damn day.
