Later in the speech, Ashton went on to talk about the things his kids have taught him about being a good person—and made us feel all of the feels.
“The greatest lesson in character in my life are my kids,” he says. “That’s the real deal. When I had these kids, when my wife and I had these kids, and we got to share that amazing, amazing, amazing honor, my first response was I wanted to call my parents and say ‘I’m sorry.’ Because I never knew how much you loved me.”
We’re not crying! You’re crying! Also, we love how he corrected himself after saying “I had these kids.” Well played, sir.
