Raw Spiced Apple Pie (Only Takes 15 Minutes!)

They say an apple a day keep the doctors away, and often the simplest answer is the best. This simple fruit packs an array of health benefits, and is readily available all year round.

This simple and quick recipe is great for getting that healthy dosage of nutrients in as well as being perfect for the summer months coming up ahead.

The pie has a lovely crunch to it with the sweet flavor of cinnamon added in. Sometimes I’ll make up mini cup versions which is great for parties and snacks!

Ingredients:

Base:

  • 1 cup pecans
  • 1 cup walnuts
  • 6 medjool dates
  • 1 tsp all spice
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence
  • 1/8 tsp Celtic sea salt

Filling:

  • 4 big apples (I used Fuji apple)
  • 5 medjool dates
  • 1/4 cup sultanas (raisins)
  • 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • pinch of Celtic sea salt

Directions:

Combine all ingredients for the base and process until mixed well; I put it onto a lower setting, as I didn’t want it completely smooth.

Line a pie dish and pat down well. If the mixture sticks to the spoon, dip the spoon in water.

Take 2 apples and blend with the rest of the filling ingredients until mixed in.

Put the other two apples in and turn to a lower setting so that you still have chunks of apple.

Fill the pie dish and sit in the fridge for about 10 minutes.
