ROCK2 inhibition facilitates drug delivery in fibrotic pancreatic cancer

A 3D cell culture model of the “fibrotic barrier” in pancreatic cancer was established (schematic representation shown in the upper row). Immunofluorescent staining was performed to analyze extracellular matrix (collagen) structure within the 3D tissues (lower row). Inhibition of the kinase ROCK2 decreased collagen deposition by around 60% and resulted in an approximately 4-fold improvement in the efficiency of macromolecular delivery through the fibrotic tissues (graphs shown in the far right).
