Sepia snaps put old HK in focus

Hong Kong (HKSAR) – To escape the hustle and bustle of the city, slip into its past, at the “Images Through Time: Photos of Old Hong Kong” exhibition at the Hong Kong Museum of History. More than 700 photos from the mid-19th century present a true reflection of the city’s early days of development.

The largest such photo exhibition the museum has ever organised comprises photos from its own collection, the Information Services Department – and a generous loan from the Moonchu Foundation which recently purchased old photos from the United Kingdom.

In an interview with news.gov.hk, museum experts reveal some interesting snippets about these treasured images. The story appears on news.gov.hk today (December 8) in both text and video format.
