We have to give Mattel major props—they’ve been killing it lately when it comes to inclusivity (it’s about time…). Now joining the ranks of a new, improved, and diverse gang of Barbie gal pals is a doll designed after soccer star Abby Wombach.Â
Wambach is one seriously badass chick, and the perfect kind of role model to add to the Barbie roster. She spent 14 years on the U.S. women’s national team, and took home two Olympic gold medals and the 2015 Women’s World Cup before retiring this year. Talk about #goals. Literally.
