These 7 Brides Said No To Crash Dieting And Still Lost Weight

“I started my big push about six months before my wedding. I was already committed to the gym, doing CrossFit six to seven days a week, but I struggle with my diet. I come from a large Italian family that loves to eat! I knew I had to change my eating habits completely. I started tracking macros to get a healthy split of carbs, proteins, and fats. For the most part, my carbs were limited to veggies. I cut out alcohol almost completely, learning to drink soda water with lime when I was out for work events or over the weekend. I kept my (insane!) need for sweets daily limited to 72 percent chocolate squares or Paleo ice cream (frozen banana, cocoa powder, and peanut butter). Luckily, my husband is very committed to fitness and healthy eating, and is a fabulous cook, so we tried eating out a lot less and stuck to his delicious home-cooked meals (like taco salads) as much as we could. The habits stuck. During our honeymoon, which we took months later, I actually weighed five pounds less than I did at our wedding!” —Lisa Beddigs, 36, 15 pounds lost in six months
