This is a poem about a patient in a psych ward

Glenn

Hiked up and over a wall

That was easy to manage

But he left his bike

And now was in his room

He didn’t want to sleep on the bed

With the wooden frame

To hold the mattress

Cause he might fall

Off the bed and hit his head

On the nightstand

Like he did before

So he chose to pull the mattress off the bed

And corner it in the room

With his running shoes

Beside his mattress

He wanted nothing from no one

He just wanted to go somewhere

Where they should treat him human.

“I can go anywhere just as long as they treat me with humanity.”

Glenn

He talked

And his middle tooth stood alone

Skinny

Hard

Dark

Strange

It beamed out of his gums

Into his mouth

Like a thread in the string theory.

And they are apparently too stupid to realize how easy it is to ensure they are called out for their bad behavior.
