Fitness brand Withings has launched a new connected scale that analyzes cardiovascular health to help users lose weight.
‘Body Cardio’ works by tracking ‘pulse wave velocity’, or the rate at which heartbeat vibrations spread through the arteries. The measurement, which has previously only been available in hospitals, can be used to indicate cardio health levels and potential problems such as high blood pressure or hypertension.
The scales connect to the brand’s Health Mate app to record and track the information and allow users to set health goals.
