SAP Datasphere migration: Boomi and AWS partnership – Business

Based on the application sprawl happening across enterprises, getting the best out of data has become a daunting task. This is where a business data fabric architecture called SAP Datasphere comes in handy.

To enhance the connectivity of SAP Datasphere with legacy mainframes and private data stores, Boomi LP and Amazon Web Services Inc. have partnered to make this migration seamless and agile, according to Dan McAllister (pictured, right), senior vice president of global alliances and channels at Boomi.

“What’s unique about the SAP partnership is SAP has added an extreme amount of value in their Datasphere platform,” he said. “This is a massive opportunity, not only to upgrade that platform, upgrade the way the data flows through that application, but also capture the rest of the market, the rest of the enterprise data and bring that together. That’s the unique value of Boomi. We completely go-to-market with AWS and they are our preferred provider in all respects.”

McAllister and Nicole Bradley (left), ISV principal account executive at AWS, spoke with theCUBE Research’s John Furrier at Boomi World, during an exclusive broadcast , . They discussed how the AWS-Boomi partnership simplifies the migration to SAP Datasphere, which eradicates the complexities of using and accessing data spread across disparate systems. The need to work from backwards in SAP Datasphere

The strategic AWS-Boomi partnership offers a working-from-backwards approach in SAP Datasphere for better results. This simplifies data integration by eliminating the long-drawn-out process, according to Bradley.

“What we hear from our customers is, ‘Manage our mess and just give us a product that allows us to innovate,’” she said. “That’s where Datasphere and all the work that’s happening there is going to provide them. It’s going to give them a platform that’s going to grow, expand and innovate, and they want to quickly get there. They don’t want it to be a long-drawn-out process.”

Since Boomi and AWS offer next-gen solutions, this collaboration eliminates the worries faced by enterprises about additional licenses, products or technologies needed in their SAP Datasphere journey. As a result, heightened cost saving is realized, McAllister pointed out.

“It’s a unique opportunity for customers to not only migrate to a greater solution that SAP is providing, but also get all of their data into the cloud as well, which provides massive efficiency and AWS owns that space and is our preferred player,” he stated. “They’re saving from multiple different angles and we’re seeing not only great savings and value from us, but the systems integrator community are also getting on board and joining this party and making it a three- or four-way-type partnership for us.”
