SecurityScorecard launches HEID AI to enhance breach prediction accuracy – Business

Security ratings firm SecurityScorecard Inc. today announced that it’s new artificial intelligence platform HEID AI is emerging from testing to “supercharge” breach prediction.

HEID AI, which stands for Highly Evolved Intelligence Defense Artificial intelligence, is claimed to be the world’s largest risk and threat dataset. The new service delivers an 80% increase in breach protection accuracy with the added bonus that false positives in the offering are under 1%, according to SecurityScorecard.

It goes without saying that breaches are an ongoing and increasing problem. Where they become even more problematic is in the supply chain, with SecurityScorecard arguing that the challenges of supply chain risk management are evident in the onboarding of critical vendors, with the average Fortune 500 company investing 2,000 hours annually in manual tasks – primarily filling out and managing security questionnaires.

HEID AI introduces a human-first approach to large language models that aims to eliminate redundant manual tasks while improving business outcomes. The new AI service auto-fills security questionnaires within minutes, using previous responses to ensure consistency and accuracy. The AI also learns as users use it, becoming more intelligent with each interaction while supporting diverse question types, including multi-select and percentages.

The new service leverages a vast and meticulous curated risk and threat intelligence dataset to enhance cybersecurity measures. The dataset includes advanced monitoring capabilities, tracking activities across 4 billion IPs and domains. It also detects sensitive data leaks by monitoring 7 billion leaked credentials and personally identifiable information from dark web forums.

HEID AI also provides comprehensive vulnerability intelligence by cataloging 100 billion vulnerabilities weekly, including active exploits and offers transparent and trusted security ratings through a decade of crowdsourced and historical data.

SecurityScorecard’s platform processes 2 billion malware requests daily and maintains honeypots in global locations, including in Russia and China. The system performs global scans on 20 million websites, mimicking real user interactions to test vulnerabilities.

“SecurityScorecard is an AI company as much as we are a cybersecurity company,” Jason Ferrante, the company’s vice president of data science, said ahead of the announcement. “We utilize AI across our entire platform, from data collection to scoring. With our in-house threat intelligence and access to data from all public attack surfaces, we leverage billions of signals to measure and validate security like no other.”
