7 Republicans Who Are Blatantly Refusing to Endorse Donald Trump

1. Ted Cruz
Even after conceding his own bid for the party’s nomination, Ted Cruz has refused to fall in line behind Trump. During his speech at the Republican National Convention this week, Cruz stuck to his anti-Trump position, later saying he’s “not in the habit” of supporting people who attack his family, CNN reports. The Texas senator’s refusal to endorse the new nominee received “boos” from the convention floor.
2. John Kasich
The Ohio governor and Trump’s former rival for the nomination still isn’t backing Trump now that he’s out of the race. According to a report from CNN, Kasich was rumored to have been offered the VP slot on Trump’s ticket, but straight up refused it.

3. Dean Heller
After the final candidates ended their campaigns and Trump looked to be the GOP’s best bet, the senator from Nevada said, “I vehemently oppose our nominee and some of the comments and issues he brought up during the campaign,” according to a report from Bloomberg.
4. Mitt Romney
The former Republican nominee’s feelings about Trump are so strong that he’s skipping the RNC this week. He told The Wall Street Journal that he found Trump’s “character and temperament unfit for the leader of the free world.” Ouch.
5. Jeb Bush
Although the former candidate (who is also notably absent at the RNC) did congratulate Trump on securing the presumptive nomination, he said in a Facebook post that he will not be voting for him.
6. Richard Armitage
In June, the former Navy officer who served as deputy secretary of state under George W. Bush and deputy secretary of defense under Ronald Reagan, told Politico that, in the event of Trump’s nomination as the Republican candidate, he would be voting for and endorsing Hillary Clinton.

7. Mike Lee
It’s safe to say that Utah’s Senator Mike Lee is not a fan of Trump either. According to Buzzfeed, he went off on a radio host who asked why he hadn’t endorsed the then-presumptive nominee, citing the candidate’s expressions of religious intolerance.
