If you thought your Friday night takeaway was bad for you, it’s nothing compared to what has been dubbed the country’s most fattening sandwich ever.

The artery-clogging kebab meat and parmesan chicken dish on the menu at a Teeside pub contains a whopping 8,000 calories – four times the recommended number that a woman should eat in one day.

And it’s little wonder when you learn what goes into the monster sandwich. The £13.95 Parmo Kebab meal contains strips of kebab meat wedged between two ‘parmos’ – two breaded butterfly chicken breasts smothered in cheese.

Worryingly, the meal even comes with a free trip to AE if the diner displays any signs of an imminent heart attack.

Designed by staff at the The George Pub and Grill in Stockton, the meal has become a hit with punters who think they can take on the new monster meal.

The cholesterol-raising dish also comes with a mountain of chips and salad to test even the most veteran of eating challenge contestants.

But warning of the dish’s perils, bar manager Craig Harker says they will offer to pay the taxi fare to AE if a customer has a heart attack during the challenge.

He said: ‘If anyone has a heart attack after eating the meal we’ll pay for a taxi to the hospital.’

And not so reassuringly, he added: ‘And if they do pop there clogs whilst eating it, we’ll chip in on the headstone.’

Snaps of failed attempts to overcome the challenge have been posted on the pub’s Facebook page.

One post shows a half-eaten parmo base on a plate with a few salad leaves, and reads: ‘When someone takes on the kebab sandwich but struggles on the bottom layer.’

Speaking about the meal being a hit, Craig said: ‘The dish has gone down very, very well.

‘Looks can be decieving for example, here the sandwich looks pretty normal – but it is packed with just so many carbs.

‘It only really takes 10 minutes to make – so we usually get them out pretty quick.’
