2. The Sex Can Be…Awkward
While Andi writes in her book that sex with Josh Murray—the guy she chose in the end—was mind-blowing, she had the opposite experience with runner-up Nick Viall. “Everything was going so well, he was on top of me as he gazed adoringly into my eyes,” she writes. She goes on to add that he then asked her a totally mood-killing question: “Would you rather make love…or fuck?” Andi explains that she couldn’t believe he wanted to play a game of “Would You Rather” while they were trying to do the deed. She responded with “make love” in the hopes of shutting things down—but he kept going.

Apparently, this was Nick’s response: “Well, if I had four times, I’d like to fuck you the first three times and make love the fourth.” Um, what? “As promiscuous as it may sound, I was no longer sexually attracted to him, and began to question if I was emotionally attracted to him anymore either,” she writes.

3. The Dates Don’t Happen Back-to-Back
Andi says the overnight visits (there are usually three per season) happen in different hotel rooms—and there are a few days between each one. This ensures none of the contestants will see each other (since they fly in for their specific dates and then leave the morning after).

4. The Suites Really Are Baller
“One of my Fantasy Suites—the last one—was in a five-bedroom mansion,” she says. “It was like, was this really necessary?”

5. So Obviously, There’s a Fully Stocked Fridge
Desserts, wine, and everything else you could imagine needing for a sexy night: The Fantasy Suite has it all, says Andi.

6. The Contestants Can Call for Backup
Since they’re not allowed to have their phones while filming, there’s one in the room that they can use in case anything goes wrong, says Andi.

7. It’s Not All About Sex
You know how everyone says they stayed up “talking all night”? Well, that’s actually true. Of her time with Josh, Andi writes in her book: “We spent the evening swapping stories, laughing until our stomachs hurt. We talked about our future, our beliefs, and our goals in life…We were in mid-conversation when the sun came up, beaming through the sheer window panels of our bungalow.”

Season 12 of The Bachelorette premieres Monday night at 9 p.m. EST.
