Metformin and other antidiabetic drugs may help reduce the risk of dementia in patients with type 2 diabetes

Results show that the first-line antidiabetic drug metformin and the second-line sodium glucose co-transporter-2 (SGLT-2) inhibitors lower the risk of dementia and AD. Sulfonylureas significantly increased the risk in women. In patients aged 75 and over DPP4i, metformin, SGLT-2i and sulfonylureas increased the risk.
