This Guy Finally Put a Ring on It…by Marrying His Cell Phone

“It is now my honor to pronounce you ‘husband’ and ‘smartphone,’—congratulations,” the officiant says in the video as Aaron slides his finger into a ring on his cell phone case (clever!).

“If we’re gonna be honest with ourselves, we connect with our phones on so many emotional levels,” Aaron explains in the video. “We look to it for solace, to calm us down, to put us to sleep, to ease our minds. And to me, that’s also what a relationship is about. In a sense, my smartphone has been my longest relationship.”

While he just “married” his phone to make a point (and, BTW, it’s not legally binding), Aaron did it up right. He donned a tux, rented a bright pink vintage car, invited a few friends, and had his phone rest comfortably on a white satin pillow until he said his vows.

“I’m trying to ask the hard questions of myself as to what this relationship means,” Aaron says. “I’m trying to go as far as I can to explore that.”

Aaron also says he hopes his wedding will “show how precious our phones are becoming in our daily lives.” So…if you’re ever feeling bummed that you don’t have a special someone in your life, maybe it’s worth taking a second look at your relationship with your phone. It’s been under your nose all this time…
